Presenting an Abstract
Here's how abstracts are presented at the Annual Meeting

There are two types of abstract presentation:

Oral Abstract Presentations

Approximately 25 percent of accepted abstracts are scheduled as oral abstract presentations. Oral abstract presentations are formal PowerPoint presentations given during simultaneous oral abstract sessions. Presentations are 10 minutes in length followed by five minutes of Q&A. Abstract sessions last one hour and 45 minutes. Presenters are required to disclose any potential conflicts at the beginning of their presentation.

Posters and Digital Presentations

The remaining 75 percent of ASGCT abstracts will once again be presented in the on-site poster hall and as digital presentations in 2022.

Presenting authors will be given the option to present in-person, digitally, or both. On-site posters will be 4x8, in landscape orientation, and be scheduled for presentation during Poster Hall Presentation receptions at the end of each full day of the Annual Meeting.

Based on the overwhelmingly positive response from 2021, ASGCT is also bringing back the Digital Poster Hall as an option for presenting authors to offer a fully-virtual presentation or supplement to an in-person presentation.

The digital presentation experience will allow you to:

  • Establish your vision without the constraints of the 4x8 format of a traditional poster

  • Record your own presentation, including a narrated PowerPoint, and convert to MP4 to upload as a video

  • Take advantage of the built-in live chat and direct messaging tools to engage with viewers and connect with attendees

  • Attract potential employer clickthroughs with a customized title slide to appear in digital presentation listings

More information about digital presentations will be posted closer to the meeting.
