Commercialization Workshop

With direction and insight from biopharmaceutical, academic, and investment professionals, the Commercialization Workshop will explore the unique challenges that emerging technologies pose in creating acceptable business models. Topics will include pricing and reimbursement, differences in US and European regulatory pathways, the road to turning a TTP into a product label, and the role of patients and patient advocacy groups within the commercialization and regulatory environment, along with several others.

The Commercialization Workshop will be held one day prior to ASGCT’s 19th Annual Meeting and those attending will need to register here at the rates listed below:

Grant Writing Workshop

The Grant Writing Workshop will provide new investigator, post-doctoral fellow, and graduate student attendees with a solid foundation on writing their first R01 grants, including information on what a grant should/should not include, range of styles for grant writing, and an overview of applications from basic grants to clinical trials grants. The Grant Writing Workshop will also include information on the review process and common questions that reviewers ask.

Genome Editing Special Symposium

The recent remarkable progress in gene editing technology provides opportunities for important advances in gene and cell therapy but can also pose deep ethical challenges, including those associated with human embryonic and germ-line genetic modification. This special symposium is intended to review the scientific and technical background of gene editing technology and to identify and discuss some of the ethical questions that it can raise.

Anyone attending the Annual Meeting may attend the Gene Editing Workshop at no cost. Anyone who is only attending the Gene Editing Workshop will need to pay the registration fee listed below:

Industry Matchmaking Sessions

New this year, ASGCT’s Industry Matchmaking Sessions will provide an opportunity for abstract presenters at the 19th Annual Meeting to meet one-on-one with a senior industry representative and give a short 5-10-minute presentation of their work to discuss potential new collaborative research agreements, technologies, and products with industry representatives.
